Highest
number of fledged juveniles in 2005!
90 juveniles took flight from a total
of 71 Imperial Eagle nests known in Hungary, which
is the highest number of fledglings so far. New
breeding pairs have greatly contributed to this
result, but also the fact that surprisingly low
proportion of breeding attempts failed in the
incubation period. More problems were found during
the fledging period, also the number of dead nestlings
was highest in 2005, 11 of them were found dead
under or in the nest. In most cases inclement
weather was responsible for the losses.
